Better than other laundry 'boosters' 07/12/2007

Mom and Grandma used Calgon Water Softener forever. When I took over the chore of laundry at home (in 1965) I continued the tradition. When I set up my own home Calgon went with me. I then educated my friends & neighbors to the wonders of hard water and Calgon Water Softener. Many of my friends have since moved on and I am proud to say, even in other countries, they need their Calgon "care package". I've had times when my stores have stopped carrying it. So I remind them that us old dinosaurs still need and use it. They promptly put it back on their shelves. Thanks for staying with it.

Calgon softens the water that softens your skin 04/17/2005

I have been using the Calgon powder water softener for over 40 years. I use it in my washer to boost the detergent and once every other month I use the Calgon without the soap; this is to remove all the soap build-up in the clothing and linens. One of the most important ways I use Calgon is in the bath (they used to encourage this on the box - why is that left off now?) I have extremely dry skin. Soaps tend to dry the skin even more and lotions just stick the dead skin back on. That sounds gross, but it is a fact. Pouring 1 cup of Calgon powder in the bathtub causes the dead skin to come off (with a loofah) and never leaves a bathtub ring.
